The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues
The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.
During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.
“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.
“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”
In response to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.
“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.
“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”
The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.
However, his comments suggested the group would reform the educational framework. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”
He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.
Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”
The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.
Farage has accused the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.
Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.
Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.
During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I will follow through.”
The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
