Kai Trump will have numerous high-profile supporters when she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, received a special exemption to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, possesses numerous courses worldwide and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have competitive games," she revealed.
Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, told her: "Simply stay calm."
"He essentially advised me to go out there and relax," she explained.
"In my eyes, he's simply a normal grandpa. He won't be there for the tournament. He's occupied with world affairs, so he's quite busy."
As an amateur, Kai has participated in a mere three competitions this year and holds the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
However she can get advice from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He is the greatest golfer in the world," Kai expressed.
"And he's a superior human being. He advised me to go out there, enjoy myself, following the flow."
Kai will face several most prominent players in professional golf at this tournament, including second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that involving Kai exposes the sport to new audiences, specifically among youth audiences.
Kai boasts millions of followers and just introduced a personal fashion and living label.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
