Seamer Atkinson Adds to the English team's Injury Worries.
'Significant concern' for England after Atkinson goes off with a hamstring injury.
Gus Atkinson increased England's injury problems after leaving the playing area during Saturday's play of the Boxing Day Test against Australia.
The right-arm seamer experienced discomfort in his left leg post-delivery of the fourth over on Saturday.
The England team indicated Atkinson had experienced "tightness" and would spend time away from the action in order to be assessed "over the next few hours".
The final Test in this Ashes battle in Sydney begins on Sunday, 4 January.
England have already lost strike bowlers one seamer with a knee problem and another paceman with an abdominal strain on this Ashes tour.
Matthew Fisher was brought into the squad as injury reinforcement.
His form was underwhelming early in the series, taking just a handful of scalps.
He was omitted for the Adelaide match, only to be brought back for the Melbourne Test to fill the void.
Atkinson showed better form in Melbourne, bagging two scalps in Australia's first innings, and scoring 28 runs as a batsman among just a trio of English batsmen to get into double digits.
After bowling one over at the end of day one, he came back the next day and dismissed the nightwatchman edging to the keeper.
However, towards the conclusion of that over, he sent down a variation to the batsman and suddenly grabbed his left hamstring.
Gus Atkinson was recalled for the Melbourne match having missed of the third.
