Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight year.
The 27-year-old secured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.
A Year of Dominance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The star player also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.
This past summer, she became the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Record-Breaking Numbers
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in earnings.
She earned nearly eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.
Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".
