This past weekend, the administration announced that the President has authorized the deployment of the state guard to the Illinois city, while simultaneously a court official prevented his team from deploying forces to the Oregon city.

White House Reveals Illinois City Deployment

A spokesperson for the administration confirmed that the chief executive had approved using Chicago-area militia personnel, citing what she labeled “ongoing violent riots and unrest” that local leaders have not quelled.

Meanwhile in Oregon, US district judge Karin Immergut supported the position of local officials that the administration dispatching guard forces to the city would probably escalate rather than ease public unrest.

“This judgment supports what residents of Oregon already know: fairness prevailed, and the truth has prevailed,” Oregon’s governor said following the court order was approved. “No uprising is occurring in the city. No threat to national security. No blazes, no bombs, no deaths due to civil unrest.”

Illinois Governor Calls Move Unnecessary

The Democratic chief executive, JB Pritzker described the move unneeded and “a manufactured performance – not a real attempt to protect public safety.”

Federal Court Blocks Portland Troop Deployment

Donald Trump has suffered a setback to his plan of deploying forces to municipalities with Democratic mayors he describes as out of control, subsequent to a US district judge halted his team's plan to dispatch the armed forces to Portland.

The chief executive had declared on 27 September that he would send forces to the city, “authorizing Complete Power, if necessary”, ignoring appeals from municipal leaders and the the state's federal lawmakers. An alliance of 17 mayors in the state had resisted the deployment.
