Liverpool's Star Issues Regret to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the group of players after the uproar from his public comments.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following making accusations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The manager has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
He also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Their results have remained strong in the period after the initial controversy. Jones believes the Salah's words were not designed to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and starting to win games.”
