Iran Claims Strike on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
