Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A representative for the company said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
